De referir ainda e a merecer visita, a majestosa estátua do Cristo Rei, implantada no topo de uma colina que se precipita em ravina em direcção ao mar. A mesma está voltada para o mar, pela simples razão que foi construída numa época (1927) na qual as ligações da Madeira com o exterior processavam-se ainda por via marítima e o intuito da mesma era dar as boas-vindas aos forasteiros.Reserva NaturalA Reserva Natural Parcial do Garajau, que teve como objectivo primordial a protecção de uma área previligiada do litoral madeirense que funcionasse como viveiro, contribuindo para um repovoamento faunístico das áreas litorais adjacentes.A Reserva, quer devido à sua localização geográfica, quer devido à riqueza biológica e extraordinária clareza das suas águas, oferece condições únicas como espaço protegido com grande interesse do ponto de vista científico, recreativo e turístico. A comprová-lo, está o considerável acréscimo no número de visitantes, especialmente de mergulhadores amadores que afluem ao local ao longo do ano.Os fundos da Reserva, de declive relativamente acentuado, são de natureza rochosa até cerca de 22m de profundidade e de areia fina ou concha moída a partir daí.Entre a fauna marinha residente contam-se alguns peixes de grande porte, com destaque para o grupo de Meros (Epinephelus marginatus) que se tornaram cartaz turístico da Reserva, para além de uma grande variedade de outras espécies costeiras como o Sargo (Diplodus sargus) e a Moreia (Muraena helena), sem esquecer as interessantes colónias de Enguias de Jardim (Taenioconger longissimus), tão características dos mares da Madeira.No verão têm igualmente sido observados no local grupos de Urjamantas (Mobula mobular), cujo porte e graciosidade de movimentos fazem do local uma atracção internacional.
