Gastronomía típica del Concejo de Cangas de Onís

Aquí los arveyos (guisantes) con jamón o salmón, el lomo de ciervo con ragú de setas, el entrecot con salsa de Cabrales o Gamonéu, el cabritu guisáu o asáu, la lubina al horno, la fabada, les fabes con almejes, el pote asturiano, las chuletas de carne «roxa», cordero y cabrito, el chorizo de jabalí, el chorizo a la sidra... son sofisticaciones gastronómicas irrenunciables. Entre sus especialidades hay que resaltar el boronchu preñáu; los emberzaos probes y, sobre todo, el soberbio queso de Gamonéu. En el extenso capítulo de imponentes postres ocupan un lugar de privilegio los frixuelos o fayueles, el arroz con leche, les casadielles con nuez, el helado Peña Santa, los excelentes pasteles, las riquísimas empanadas, la miel, o la leche y mantequilla de las vacas, cabras y ovejas de los pastos de altura.
